Dear Chris
Just a few words of farewell, bon voyage and appreciation as you embark on your new ventures outside of Cisco.
The last 5-6 years of the CallManager Express and SRST system development have been wonderful time for all of us working on the program, seeing it grow from a small prototype lab project into the successful prime-time product that it now is.
I’d like to express my gratitude for the excellent work you’ve put in on the documentation side. Documentation that grew over the years from just a few new simple commands to a huge, must be 1000+ pages of System Administrator Guide and Command References. So a big personal thank-you is deserved here for putting up with the engineering and marketing team for some of the craziness of last minute feature additions – always just a couple more commands we needed to add (or had forgotten to tell you about) – and one more bunch of variations to cover in the usage cases.
Your hard work and attention to detail and structure were much valued, and also your dedication in chasing down the individual engineers to find out what features really do and to understand the context in which they are used. Your patience in driving us all through the doc reviews was remarkable. You kept us all on task, and focused around “getting it right”. With the ever increasing number of customers and internal Cisco folks using the documentation, the high degree of clarity and correctness reflected in the docs is paying significant dividends in terms of spreading knowledge and understanding of the product and also minimizing the continual “how do I?” email coming from the larger Cisco organization.
So once again Thank You – it’s been a pleasure working with you, and I and the rest of the CME/SRST team wish you all the very best for the future!
Sincerely
Mike Tasker
